I got into fitness after quitting a long term admin role due to a conflict with my personal values (actions of others not sitting right with me in the workplace). I didn’t know what I was going to do, so my Mum asked if I wanted to get mat Pilates certified in the meantime to help her out with her fitness business.
I started doing Pilates classes most days of the week, plus learnt how to teach freestyle step classes and it greatly assisted not only my physical, but my mental health after the loss of a job that I’d invested a lot into time and energy wise. It gave me space to breathe and a new perspective.
I never would have imagined that I would be teaching fitness classes. Learning how the body works in relation to exercise was totally new to me, and so was getting up in front of a group of people to instruct them – one of the most terrifying things I have done! Particularly when some people chose to be very unkind during my process of learning…..
I stuck with it regardless, who else really has the guts to do it? Not many. I completed my Cert III, and happened to jump in on a Metafit coaches course while I was in Sydney doing a Pilates training and was introduced to the world of true HIIT (and loved/hated it!).
It was then that I brought the first 30 min bodyweight only HIIT classes to town, which took a while to catch on, as people felt that 60 min exercise classes like boxing and bootcamps were better value and more worthwhile. Sometimes only 1 person would show up to the little hall, but over time it gradually caught on and we had groups of 20 people doing Metafit outdoors and in school halls.
After completing my Cert IV in 2016 and taking on my first PT clients, I started to get more curious about training with weights and felt that the basic fitness certs had really left a gap in my knowledge there. Over time I realised not every person is suited to group fitness, and more people need to be met where they are at if we are really going to deal with improving the health of the whole population (not just already fit people).
To do this, I needed a space where I could set up decent gear, instead of working out of my car.
Fast forward to today and my favourite thing to teach clients is how strong they can be, and also how strength training can be infinitely adapted to their life circumstances at any time. It’s not a challenge, it’s a lifestyle!
I love knowing that clients that work with us for 6-12 months or more, could confidently train themselves if they are no longer with us (but most choose to stay for our friendly, private and unique venue – no one else locally offers training like we do).
We build capacity in our members so that they don’t have to rely on one trainer, venue or group fitness class or trend to get and stay fit for life.
Being Fit AF to me means making fitness part of your life, but not your whole personality as that’s a bit unbalanced. Outside the gym, I enjoy true crime podcasts, cooking, eating out, camping, pets and I’ve recently taken up singing lessons for something completely different and a new challenge.

When I joined Angie’s classes years ago, I didn’t do it to lose weight. I don’t even think I got into it to get stronger. I wasn’t worried that I was getting older or to benefit my future self.
As a teenager I enjoyed training hard for my sports, it was the challenge of pushing yourself to achieve a result, and the amazing feeling you have from being physically fit. I just wanted to feel better/fitter, and I wasn’t doing anything towards that at the time.
Fast forward to now, 5+ years after getting into fitness, it’s still about the way it makes me feel, with the added bonuses of being much stronger, fitter, and leaner than I have been before.
I decided to work in fitness because I see so much value in it, and I want others to feel their best too.
My biggest learning since starting my fitness routine is if you are willing to put the work in, stay consistent and override the excuses that creep in, you can achieve exactly what you want, especially with the right support.
My favourite exercise to teach clients is the squat, because it’s such a valuable movement. We need to do it in life, and should be prepared for it.
Outside of my workouts and training clients, I love going to the beach, you won’t find me soaking up the sun on the sand, I’ll be in the water, right out the back, searching for the best wave.
To me, being Fit AF means getting strong, staying strong, moving your body as intended, feeling good within yourself, now and into the future.
My goal is to help people who think they don’t belong in a weights room or gym, build the confidence to walk in, and do a workout without the worry! When we work together, I will teach you safe and effective workout routines you can use for life, in just 8 1:1 sessions.

After the birth of my eldest daughter, I did Weight Watchers plus a lot of group exercise to drop my pregnancy weight. I worked as a Weight Watchers leader for a few years and completing my Fitness Certificates was a natural progression as exercise was a massive part of the equation not just for my weight-loss, but also my overall health and energy as a young mum.
I was in a management role for a 24/7 gym for 5 years. I really loved supporting new members and being on the gym floor, but I disliked the sales and admin side of things. I left this job feeling really burnt out and a lot of what was industry standard didn’t align with my belief and values.
During my hiatus from the fitness industry, I became a Wellness Coach, Emotions Mentor and completed my 350-hour Yoga Teacher Training. I was also very focused on my personal nutrition and lifestyle during this period, but besides yoga my fitness took a back seat. My love of strength training was reignited when I became a Member of Fit AF back in September 2020.
My favourite thing to teach clients is strength training. It’s a real buzz to see clients progress and lift weights they never dreamed of. One of the biggest satisfactions of being a trainer and nutrition coach is helping clients make daily movement and healthy eating a habit.
One thing I’ve learnt, is that weight-loss, health and fitness progress is not linear. There are a lot of pieces to the puzzle to looking and feeling our best selves which is why an individual approach is always best to support a person to achieve their goals.
Fun fact about me: I’m a massive foodie which is double-edged sword when it comes to maintaining a healthy weight! I love tweaking recipes to ‘healthify’ them. Food is my love language.
My family have been additive free, low-tox and into natural remedies for over a decade. It’s not only a way of life for us, but something that I teach and support others to adopt.
Being Fit AF means to me, consistently showing up and having laser focus on one goal at a time. When I first got back into strength training, I had to work around a lot of back and neck issues due to my scoliosis.
My first goal was to train consistently without hurting myself.
Currently it’s working on my push-ups and pull-ups. Having something to focus on other than dropping weight or a size is super important to stay motivated.
I’m excited to help my clients achieve balance between life, health and fitness goals.
I have a special interest in supporting clients with high blood pressure. Through tailored training and strategic nutrition approaches, I empower clients to take control of their health and experience tangible results.
My proven holistic approach to well-being ensures that anyone who trains with me experiences not only physical transformations but also gains the tools for long-term lifestyle change.
Imagine stepping into the change-room of your favourite shop to find you’ve not only gone down a size or two, but feel incredible. I got to experience this moment, and that’s the kind of result I’ll help you achieve too.
